The Democratic Party has today approved the establishment of an audit group for Russian funding in the Democratic Party. It should be noted that in connection with this, the former leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, will be investigated for his actions, in relation to Russian funding in the 2017 elections. The working group that will investigate MP Basha will to be directed by Ledina Mandia.

The chief democrat emphasized that after transparency is made by the audit group, DP structures will meet and decide on the fate of Lulzim Basha in DP

The decision was taken this Monday at the meeting of the Presidency and Secretariats, structures that were chosen by the president Sali Berisha and the Re-establishment Commission.

We emphasize that earlier, during a media conference, Berisha asked for the reopening of the investigation in order to be fully transparent about this issue, since according to him, Basha received every evidence or document from the blue headquarters before he left.

The former prime minister emphasized that after transparency is made by the audit group, the DP structures will meet and decide on the "fate" of Lulzim Basha. More than two weeks ago, the report on Russian financing of the Democratic Party in the 2017 elections was published in the USA, where it was said that Russia has openly financed the Democratic Party with 500 thousand dollars in the 2017 elections.
