Dimitar Kovacevski in a press conference together with Prime Minister Edi Rama from North Macedonia called on the parties in Kosovo and Serbia to take steps to de-escalate tensions.
Kovacevski said that they should behave like statesmen and speak openly, while adding that they should implement the agreement they signed in Ohrid.
On this path of European integration, we will take steps for Europeanization. During the Summit in Berlin, we signed three regional agreements. In this Summit that will take place in Tirana, as you told Ed, Albania as chairman and him as prime minister have our support in that process. This is gratitude for the country and the region as a whole. The Berlin process is important for the Region, also because of the initiatives that will be undertaken related to energy, digitalization and infrastructure.
They will reduce the gap between the candidate countries, especially in the South-East European region. At the end of the day, what is most important for citizens is the economic situation and the rule of law. In this plan, we can say that we also did this within the Open Balkans initiative, which gave results for three countries: Albania, Serbia and Montenegro. Citizens expect further innovation. For me it is important that this initiative showed that between the joint cooperation between the countries.
Implementation of the agreement reached in Ohrid for the normalization of relations. This is a process that includes decisions in both neighboring countries, but politicians must behave like citizens and approach open solutions through dialogue. Here we are talking about the European future, about the process that has started, about the fact that North Macedonia will have its own delegation at the NATO summit , Kovacevski said.
