Parliament has approved that the draft law for medical students be discussed with an accelerated procedure.

In the vote in the parliament, with 64 votes in favor, it was decided that this discussion should go through an accelerated procedure, while 24 voted against. It was the opposition that asked for more time for discussions on this draft, and not to pass it quickly.

The government law for medical students will be discussed within 2 weeks in 2 parliamentary committees, that of Media and Laws, and then it will go to the Parliament for voting.

A day ago the government approved the law that Medical students must work for 5 years in Albania and then they will receive the diploma after completing their studies. According to the government, this is done to prevent the departure of young doctors from Albania.
