Prime Minister Edi Rama, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen at the College of Europe in Tirana, another important project in the journey of aligning our universities with European standards.
Excerpt from Rama's speech:
It is without a doubt that the beginning is Ursula and I want to express a very deep thanks to her, who has been a steadfast, loving and true friend for Albania and our region. Ursula, I want to guarantee you that this is a good investment, because for friends we go beyond the impossible, we can even kill... You are the safest European politician that exists. EE knows that Frederika knows that what I am saying is true, Frederika started and tried hard what Ursula finished, to bring Albania to the table for membership talks.
It was not many years ago, but it was a different Europe. We celebrate this extraordinary moment of meeting with students and professors, just two years after this idea was launched in Tirana, after we held the summit with the EU. From the idea to the realization is a great achievement and it started from a conversation between me and the EC president, It is an example that you can use that Germans and Albanians are together to speed up many things. No one would have believed that this would happen. It is no coincidence that the college opened its campus at the exact moment when Albania opened the talks for the first chapter group, to become a member. It is a strong sign that Albania's stars are in a straight line and the road to membership is unstoppable.
