After winning another 4-year term at the head of the Municipality of Tirana, Mayor Erion Veliaj thanked all those who contributed to the success of these elections.

During his speech, the Mayor of Tirana, Veliaj, especially thanked all those who voted for him, as he promised for Tirana that he will work humbly and modestly to run the capital.

Veliaj says that this victory did not raise him to the sky, but put him on the ground and gave him a message like no other to move forward in Tirana.

"I want to thank all the leaders of the Socialist Party. We have won massively in all 27 units of the Municipality of Tirana, 27 to 0, to be the force that moves each of our units forward. I want to thank all of our admins for solving an incredible problem, I am humbled by everything that each one of them does. There are 500 dedicated captains who have been there until the last second a public servant and I look forward to doing more work in each of the units. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I want to thank our team of patron Nazis, who know the problems of every door. Only the ability to have ears to hear and eyes to see, a heart to beat, this is the key and formulas of our success. We introduced a new concept that made each of us a digital activist. Thanks for the outstanding work they have done. They have made this party with a great intelligence, they are all our IT technicians, the brains we have that are taken to use all the instruments of science in favor of our work.

I want to thank the 300,000 voters of Tirana who, despite having problems at the polling stations for 3 hours, despite being in wheelchairs, voted, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for giving us a clear message, decision-making for a Tirana that will only move forward and that wants Tirana to continue to be an engine of development. This victory did not raise me to the sky, but brought me down to earth like no other message. I promise you modesty, a humble head and a mind to move forward. Tirana showed us that it needs a firm hand. I want to thank those who think differently and I want to tell you that your vote is not in vain. I tell the democrats that I will also be their president, without dividing them into left and right without any distinction and no one will leave Tirana lost. Kudos to those on the right who chose not to turn this into a battle with the US, chose not to be used as cannon fodder. They refused not to participate in the voting and not to be groomsmen at the wedding of Saliu and Iliri. I thank Edi Rama, who made this campaign easier for us by showing that the government was there to solve difficult situations. The socialists showed that for the municipalities, they are the main alenaca, they are in the days of quarantine and in the days when we get better with each other".said Veliaj.

The Mayor of Tirana, after being reconfirmed in this position, extended his hand of cooperation to all other rivals who competed for the Municipality of Tirana.

In the victory speech from the courtyard of the pink headquarters, Veliaj asked the other candidates to cooperate with the Municipal Council of Tirana.

"I want to use this opportunity to extend a hand of cooperation to all those who ran for the Municipality of Tirana, I want to extend a hand of cooperation to Belinda, Arlind, Roland, I want to extend a hand of cooperation to Marko, Lajla. We are not enemies, we grew up in the same city. We pass the same roads, we will have the same problems.

I very much hope that they will accept this offer, that we will cooperate, not enter a City Council where the old trend of division and division continues. We do not need others on the City Council, but we are willing to cooperate with others on the City Council. Thanks to the extraordinary support that the citizens have given us by voting the SP logo for the City Council, today we have a decisive majority in the City Council. A majority that allows us to continue to move this vision, these promises, these projects forward. We do not need, in the sense of numbers, another vote in the City Council, but we have a very strong desire to make a new beginning, to have a new tradition where the song of Iliri and Saliu, now translated, no longer continues in the Municipal Council", said Erion Veliaj.
