Meta attacks Balluku

Infrastructure Minister Belinda Balluku was appointed by Prime Minister Edi Rama as deputy prime minister after the sacking of Ahmetaj.

Movements within the cabinet by Rama have apparently not been liked by Ilir Meta, who in his speech at the LSI Convention attacked Minister Balluku for the costs of road tenders.

"A road costs 6 times more expensive than in Serbia. Albania is the champion of corruption in our region even wider," Meta said.

Edi Rama fired Ahmeta a few hours after Ilir Meta emerged from the Presidency. The former deputy prime minister's dismissal had been warned for months, but Rama has not signed off on allegations that Ilir Meta would not decree.

Ahmetaj has been accused of cooperating in the shadows with Ilir Meta and LSI and allegedly being the man who supplied Monica The Great on the issue of incense.
