The head of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, has requested a parliamentary investigation into what he calls the Port of Durrës affair.

In a reaction to the media, Bardhi says that SPAK should also investigate this "scandalous corruption affair".

The opposition accuses the government and the minister Belinda Balluku of trying to give the management of the new port of Durrës to an Albanian oligarch, carrying out dubious deals with the concession contract of "EMS", which after the Arbitration sold the shares to a "dubious Croatian company ".

The affair of the Port of Durrës, which according to the serious investigations of the German media has traces that go as far as Ecuador and Colombia, is one of the biggest affairs of Edi Rama and Belinda Balluk, which must be investigated seriously and without any delay. For this purpose, at today's meeting of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party, it was decided to request a full parliamentary investigation on this affair.

Transparency on public assets and especially the verification and cutting of links of organized crime with major strategic projects of the country, should be the mission of the Assembly in the remaining period of this Legislature.

The DP Parliamentary Group urges the Special Prosecutor's Office to investigate and verify all the investigations carried out on this scandalous corruption affair, which is suspected to have ties to interstate organized crime, as soon as possible and without any hesitation.
