Analyst Fatos Lubonja and a political prisoner in the dictatorship said that the law on opening files has a big problem and creates concern for democracy.

Lubonja said that he sees this law as a mechanism of Prime Minister Edi Rama not to fall from power. He said that whenever Rama feels in danger, he changes laws to prevent him from leaving the government.

" Until now we have this, but considering that it ends in 2022, and Ilir Meta at the time in question was neither president nor anything, there is a problem, because he was a citizen, and even if the authority had opened it, it keeps it there.

There is a political intrigue here, which the prime minister also said, which became my reason, and we are opening it. So there is no Meta file, no more information about IM or anyone. I see this correction in quotes, in the wake of the many actions Rama has taken to control power. In 2013, he won power with a coalition.

In the year when he has a coalition like the one he won, he could be in danger, he broke the law. We are in a situation where, in order to increase control and impunity by the public and to keep power at all costs, mechanisms are added that reduce the possibility of Rama being overthrown from power, this is the biggest problem of this law. Even the justice reform was done for this work and this is the biggest concern for democracy ," he said.
