The deputy of the Democratic Party, Dashnor Sula, has investigated the progress of the oil import market in the country in the last 10 years, where it has been found that although the number of cars in use has almost doubled, the amount of imported fuel has decreased.
He has published today on Facebook, the answers he received from the Directorate of Road Transport and the AKB and comes to the conclusion that in this sector we are dealing with a big megascandal.
" I decided to do a simple investigation on the fuel sector: as a Member of Parliament of Albania, I requested information from the Directorate of Road Transport to make available to me the number of vehicles registered in Albania from 2011 to 2021. Meanwhile, since we the oil produced by AlbPetrol exports all of it abroad for processing, I asked the Customs Directorate to make available to me the amount of fuel imported also since 2011. I also asked AKBN to make available to me the amount of oil extracted from Albpetrol. The answers that have come to me create a strong shadow of doubt about a megascandal" , writes Sula.
According to him "if we analyze the above data between 2011 and 2021, the result is that the number of vehicles registered in Albania in 2021 has almost doubled, while the amount of imported oil is lower than in 2011".

Shadow of the oil scandal in Albania!
Albania has long been regarded as one of the countries with the highest oil prices in Europe because we left the Balkans behind in time. I have consistently raised this concern at every possible window.
Recently, I decided to do a simple investigation on the fuel sector: as a Member of Parliament of Albania, I requested information from the Directorate of Road Transport to make available to me the number of vehicles registered in Albania from 2011 to 2021. Meanwhile, since in the oil that AlbPetrol produces, it exports all of it abroad to be processed, I asked the Customs Directorate to make available to me the amount of fuel imported also since 2011.
I also asked AKBN to make available to me the amount of oil extracted from Albpetrol.
The answers that have come to me create a strong shadow of doubt about a megascandal.
In 2011: 410,629 vehicles registered in Albania, while the amount of imported fuel was 570,441,945 liters or over 570 thousand tons of imported fuel.
In 2012: 394,447 registered vehicles. Meanwhile, the amount of imported oil is 539,085,234 liters, or in other words, over 539,000 tons of imported fuel.
I am not taking all the years in order because they are in this document because you find them in the relevant tables below, but I am going to the year 2021.
The result is 740,669 registered vehicles, while the amount of imported fuel is 536,025,971 liters or in other words 536 thousand tons of fuel.
So AKBN is presenting the amount of crude oil extracted from Albanian sources.
In 2011, Albpetrol produced 835,610 tons of crude oil.
Meanwhile, in 2021, it turns out that 625,051 tons of fuel were extracted from Albanian sources.
If we analyze the above data between 2011 and 2021, the result is that the number of vehicles registered in Albania in 2021 has almost doubled, while the amount of imported oil is lower than in 2011.
Dear citizens, in the analysis I did not get the number of tractors or tractors with chains that are used by construction companies and that consume 10 times the oil.
When in 2021 we have almost double the number of vehicles we had in 2011, how is it possible that we import less oil than in 2011. Where do we find the oil to put the vehicles in motion? Has this oil been smuggled in?
Or maybe the same amount is extracted from the oil wells in Albania, but a part of it enters the local market and the citizens buy "Ballshi" oil for imported oil?
Are we dealing again with a super scandal with avoidance of obligations?
I wish that the prosecutor's office rises to the task and takes into consideration and investigates this case. Meanwhile, I personally will not leave it like that, but I will go to the end of this matter. The chances are that we have millions of liters of undeclared oil and there is necessarily a big black hole in the state budget.
