The Socialist Party decided not to hand over former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku to SPAK.
In the Top Story studio, moderator Grida Duma analyzed the current political situation on both sides, with the SP regarding the Balluku issue and the opposition's reactions.
"The analysis began on Monday, when public opinion expected Edi Rama to keep his word on the decision to grant or not immunity for Ms. Balluku's mandate. Rama addressed three dilemmas for the public, which turned into trilemmas, at the moment when the opposition should respond today with a protest, which we must analyze.
The level of backlash, the level of radicalization – was it sufficient? – and the further radicalization of the opposition, in the conditions when the majority made decisions and acted in that way, must be assessed. The Balluku case does not end here, it will continue with the investigation. What this curtain has opened is a new, dangerous precedent or a new trajectory where politics will lead justice.
"How the radicalization of the opposition, or not, will affect the future approach between political forces, which are addressing the new electoral code, with an internal or secret negotiation, which we will examine in Top Story when it happens, whether we will have a pretend game or a real clash. This precedent, which the Socialist Party began to build on Monday with Edi Rama's proclaimed decision to remain in the positions of suspension and not granting the mandate, and how this vote today happened," Grida Duma said at the start of the show.
