"We will not allow any Trojan horses in the EU" - Who does Marta Kos

"Countries joining the EU must be strong democracies, capable of resisting the toxic influence of Russia and other countries. There can be no shortcuts to reform."

This was stated by EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos during the plenary session in Strasbourg.

Kos stressed the importance of continuing the integration process through reforms.

"This increases credibility," Kos declared, adding that "the EU must also fulfill its commitments."

"No Trojan horses. Countries that would undermine us from within cannot become member states. We must make full assurance of this."

Countries joining the EU must be strong and stable democracies, capable of resisting the toxic influence of Russia and others.

"Of course, there can be no shortcuts in reforms. Our European citizens expect this from us, from me and from my team," Kos said in her statement shared on the social network 'X'.
