Socialist Party MP Erion Braçe has reacted sharply after the incidents that occurred this Tuesday during the protest held outside the Albanian Parliament, where there were clashes between protesters and State Police forces.
Through a video published on social media, Braçe stated that acts of violence against police officers constitute a threat to the state itself, emphasizing that the attack on the State Police uniform should not be seen as an ordinary incident.
The socialist MP said that, although attacks on MPs are serious, the attack on police officers is even more worrying, as according to him it violates the authority of the state and public order.
"For almost three hours, in the vicinity of the Parliament, at its entrance and exit, deputies of the Assembly of Albania have been attacked. Not only deputies of the Socialist Party have been attacked, but every deputy, not only men, but also women.
Now I want to address the State Police. If you have accompanied them, or are asking to accompany them because they threw eggs at my car, you are making a very big mistake. I know how to solve my own problems. I didn't need anyone today and I don't need anyone now. What concerns me is the raised hand and the attack on the state police officer.
If a deputy is attacked, of course it is serious, because it concerns the sovereignty of the Assembly. But if the state police are attacked, this is not the 'new Albania', but the new chaos. Because, if the state police fall, the state falls.
"The Socialist Party is not falling, nor is the system that these people are blabbering about on social media, but the state is falling. This country has suffered greatly from the collapse of the state. Look at the photo of a state policeman being beaten," declared Braçe.
