Begaj decrees the law on criminal amnesty, 1335 convicts benefit!

The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, has today decreed the promulgation of the law 'On granting amnesty'. This law received the green light from the Parliament with 84 votes in favor on June 18, from which 1,335 convicts will benefit.

According to the draft law approved with the votes of the Socialist Party and PSD, 466 people will be immediately released from prison, of whom 11 are women and 1 minor. Meanwhile, the remaining 869 will benefit from a reduction in sentence, among them 8 women and 1 minor. The criminal amnesty enters into force 15 days after publication in the Official Gazette.

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Bajram Begaj, with Decree No. 375, dated 30.6.2026, decreed today the promulgation of Law No. 57/2026, "On granting amnesty".

Also, the President of the Republic, His Excellency Bajram Begaj, decreed today the promulgation of Law No. 59/2026, "On the electricity sector", as well as Law No. 60/2026, "On electronic information on the transport of goods".
