The majority agrees in principle with the request of the Democratic Party to open the files of the State Security.

The position of the SP was confirmed by the Minister of State, Elisa Spiropali, who said that they should sit down and work with the DP to agree.

Spiropali said that the insurance files should be opened to separate once and for all from the past.

This reaction of Spiropali came to the Laws Commission, which was asked by the head of the DP Group, what is its position on the opposition's request for the opening of files and decommunization.

Spiropali said that those who have served the state security should no longer be part of politics. But the minister stopped at a key point, stressing that they do not agree to open those files which are identified as a threat to national security.

"Referring to your proposal, for the declassification of documents related to state insurance, as far as I understand from the opinion given by the authority, there is nothing wrong with it. It would be the right thing to do to declassify, but maintaining the author's discretion, so that when documents related to national security are identified, they should not be declassified. This must be discussed to agree. There are few issues that we agree on, but one issue that requires the purification of politics and public life from people who have carried out harmful and criminal activities and at that time were part of the security hierarchy, so that they no longer have a place in politics. We have some of our proposals in other laws, choose the code, the law for the authority from the need that has arisen and from the request of the authority to remove the obstacle to remove the previous verifications. We will do it as an element of our strong will to separate once and for all from the past", said Spiropalus.
