Within 10 days, the Socialist Party will submit to the Assembly the proposal for changes in the law on Political Parties and in the Electoral Code to prevent former state security employees from being in active politics.

He said that what he called the "despionization package" was discussed in the parliamentary group.  

" There is an urgent need for Albanian politics and other institutions to be cleansed of former state security collaborators. We have discussed the 2 draft laws that are in the process, the first law on the authority for information on state insurance files, there will no longer be any obstacle to verify even those who have been verified before.

And naturally also the other issue for the provision under the Electoral Code of the Republic of Albania, where all candidates should apply to the Authority and they have the opportunity to verify.

Also, work continues within the parliamentary group for the rest of the package, which is also related to the law on decriminalization, where former state security associates are also foreseen, as well as the law on parties because you cannot be the chairman of a political party if it turns out that you were an employee of the state security. Naturally, we have other issues that we addressed in the meeting of the parliamentary group ", said Balla.
