"I will vote against" - Erion Braçe against the SP-PD agreement

After the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party reached an agreement on changes to the Assembly's regulations, Socialist MP Erion Braçe came out against the party's decision.

Brace said he would vote against the new regulation, as according to him it weakens the controlling role of the MP and concentrates the powers that the Constitution grants to each MP in the hands of a single committee.

"My job is to be a deputy. The new regulation concentrates several instruments in the hands of a committee, which are constitutional instruments of parliamentary control that every member of the Assembly has, not a single committee."

I did not like some of the changes that were made to the regulation. Issues related to the functioning of the market, practically, the regulation denies me such a right.

"Give the institution 15 days to respond. There are institutions where the information I request is handled only with an 'enter'. Institutions have the obligation to respond to a member of parliament who requests information," he said.

Further, the socialist MP emphasized that, if a vote were held today in the Assembly, his vote would be against the changes.

"The concentration of parliamentary control instruments in one committee is, of course, not a good thing. I would vote against this regulation," declared Brace.
