Prime Minister Edi Rama has once again come to the defense of the former President of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi, three days before he will appear in court on Monday on charges of war crimes.

Through a post on Twitter, Rama recalls that the current president of the USA, Joe Biden, described Thaçi as the "George Washington" of Kosovo and raises the question of whether those who lead the people to freedom can be considered criminals.

"Should those who lead their people to freedom against brutal regimes be considered criminals? It's a disturbing thought, especially considering that the man in this photo was once hailed as the George Washington of Kosovo by Joe Biden himself!” - writes Rama.

On April 3, the trial against the former president of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, the former parliamentarians, Jakup Krasniqi and Kadri Veseli, and the former member of the General Staff of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Rexhep Selimi, will begin in the Specialized Chambers in The Hague. .
