The commanding chairman of the Democratic Party, Enkelejd Alibeaj, has responded to the accusations of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who said today that the MP is being held hostage by Prime Minister Edi Rama because of his brother's crimes.
Through a post on social networks, Alibeaj says that the language used by Berisha should be despised. According to Alibeaj, the accusations against the family members are the result of the political school of communism and biographies, which have been persecuting Albanians for tens of years.
Alibeaj further adds that the law on files and lustration are a necessity for Albanian society.
Enkelejd Alibeaj's reaction:
Accusations and defamations in the mouth of Sali Berisha are a well-known refrain in Albanian politics. I continue to remain convinced that such a language deserves the contempt and disgust that Albanians already know how to give to outdated politics. What Sali Berisha calls cooperation for the files law, is the coal that burns the former communists and former collaborators of the state security, who for years have been using the PD and the right as their shield.
The accusations against family members are precisely the result of the political school of communism and biographies, which have persecuted Albanians for tens of years.
The law on files and lustration are a necessity for Albanian society. It is the way to re-evaluate the past, to build the future without the hostages of a past that has caused great damage to our society.
