"People were once killed on that boulevard" - Rama speaks from Germany

Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated at the European Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum, where he is participating as head of the Albanian government, that he has heard and considers the concerns of the protesters in Tirana, who have been gathering outside his office for more than a month.

From Düsseldorf, Edi Rama told those present that he is trying very carefully to understand the message of the civic rally, not by counting the people participating in it, but by listening to their concerns.

The Prime Minister once again blamed the social media algorithm for the massive protest, while reminding the Germans present at the innovation forum that years ago, when he was protesting in opposition, people were killed on the boulevard.

"As Prime Minister, I consider this protest an important message for me and my government. I am trying to understand this message very carefully, not by counting people on the streets, but by trying to listen to people's concerns.

On the same boulevard where the flamingos are protesting, we had people killed, protesters who lost their lives, not long ago. What I mean is that after the protest, (the flamingos) it turned into an arena for malicious actors.

"Millions of people who had never even set foot in Albania were influenced by the algorithm, reality was distorted through optimization. The algorithm does not need to suppress through a secret police, it simply suffocates everything except indignation," said Edi Rama.
