The next protest against the construction of the 64-story tower in the garden behind the Opera and Ballet Theatre in Tirana was held today.
Hundreds of citizens have participated in the protest called by "Lëvizja Together", against the construction of the "Tirana Mountain" tower, with investor Nova Construction and rumored to cost over $100 million.
Apart from the tower builder's talked-about ties to The Family of Sali Berisha, another absurd is the large amount of money that will be invested by a firm that does not have it.
Speaking at today's protest, the head of the Co movement Arlind Qorri said that colonial laws are in place in Albania, where oligarchs and strongmen have the opportunity to take away property from anyone, to build strategic investments there.
"How much private property is respected in Albania, everyone knows who will close the balcony or set up a tent. Stay in the city for a while and don't get permission. Imagine another one that has a ground house and will set up a second floor. It's not even about. But you were finding an investor to raise 20 floors, right away. Private property is also in the south. But you get the property if an investor, an oligarchic mafia coming from Tirana is going to make a strategic investment. These are laws that colonists used.
They are the gangsters and the oligarchs. Who builds in Albania? What is the economic elite in Albania? The city is a gold mine that is good to use, but not lived. Look where they live, in villages around Tirana. "They want to use the NSA," said The Sun.
He said that in the 64-storey tower construction, all political parties in the country are involved.
"Look at how all political parties are involved in this tower, Edi Rama first, as chairman of the KKT. They are the ones who have signed and will benefit. That would be half the bad, but it's also the other half we call the opposition. It's them for the relationship they have with the owners of this tower. It's not just Edi Rama, it's Sali Berisha, it's Ilir Meta. They are the ones who fight over how to profit the tower with the oligarchs," said Arlind Qorri.
