Rama exalted: Italian media requests not to interview me after I posted humorous
Interview with La Stampa

Prime Minister Edi Rama has managed to make a noise in the Italian media, after posting a comparative "meme" between Albanian immigration in 91' and the arrival for tourism of Italians in Albania in 2023.

Although the humor of The Ram's photo left different tastes, even some criticized it, it seems that the effect of italian media breaking out on tourism news in our country has succeeded.

Rama, aware of this, says he is not leaving the Italian media alone who want to interview him. The head of the Albanian government also shares an interview he gave for the Italian newspaper "La Stampa".

Rame's post:

Italian media requests for interviews are not ceased, major newspapers and television are under the influence of the magic of Albania Tourist and the humorous meme I posted a few days ago, with the photomontage of the ships of the great escape of '91, has made italy's tour, further encouraging Italian media to talk about Albania's
tourist boomThis is an interview with La Stampa daily, for all those of you who can't stand by without reading the newspapers in this fantastic August

While Prime Minister Edi Rama is resting, just a few days, at his holiday home in Dhërmi, the airport of the Albanian capital "does not sleep".

Almost 200 flights land between day and night at Rinas Airport, not counting land or sea transport. Everyone is crazy about the most sought-after coastline of summer 2023. From Shkodra, to the Adriatic, to Saranda and the islands of Ksamil to the Ionian, the low prices of fishermen's houses are attached to luxury resorts and cars driven by many young Albanians living abroad.

The Socialist leader rejoices in his country's success and posts an autoironic meme: 1991 Vlora full of desperate people towards Italy and a photomontage with the same scene, but this time those who leave by ship are Italian holidaymakers towards the land of eagles.

"One of The Characteristics of Ramma is the ability to see things from a height of two meters," say those who know him well.
Rama, together with the mayor of Lezha city, plans developments to increase the GDP of that area through tourism, but in the direction that is not expected.

Lezha will become a "little Spain", a new Mediterranean destination with 5 stars" Anyone who thought ambition was the Romanjole Riviera of the past is very wrong.

You're called the Mediterranean Maldives, we're talking about "Alb-mania". What are the figures from this festive boom?

We are going through the touristic path of your country. This summer was beyond expectations. We have had more than +35% tourists, the italian figures are impressive and are close to half a million. When I took office as prime minister (2013), Tirana airport handled a maximum of 350,000 passengers per year. Now over 6.5 million.

Are you prepared for this attack?

After three or four years, there is a change in the picture. Until a few years ago we suffered from the prejudice created in the 90s, of being criminals, mafias, poor immigrants who dreamed of Lamerica, as Gianni Amelio would say. Today tourists come and they happily merge among our people. The wind has changed. We have to make up for lost time. But beware: we don't want to make the big mistakes of Italy or other countries, of the conquered coasts or cities. Massive arrivals and low cost can ruin the future and leave behind eco-monsters and environmental disasters.

It costs less than Italy, Greece and Croatia. Wonderful nature, easy to reach. How do you plan to change the trend?

We have equalled Greece and just surpassed Italy in terms of tourist numbers per capita. It's incredible, but we have worked hard in these years of Albanian Renaissance. Looking ahead, we want balanced and higher-level tourism. It takes three or four years to be ready to be ready to go alongside the biggest ones.

Do you think this invasion was unwanted?

I think we are a naturalistic country, from sea to mountain. We have several sites under UNESCO protection. Our vision of Albania 2030 is a key objective for tourism, but we do not want to fall into the honey trap: today's numbers could fool future generations. Mass tourism is not environmentally sustainable. It takes balance to protect nature. But that's easier said than done.

Is the Emirates building one of the largest marinas in Europe in Durres?

It's a big investment, from 2.3 to 2.5 billion. The Eu is also a leader from the energy point of view. We are based on 100% renewable resources. Unfortunately, it's all based on water. We are diversifying because if "God doesn't cry" — that means it doesn't rain anymore, because of climate change — relying on water energy becomes difficult and import costs. We have large investors of photovoltaics (among them Voltalia and Totali Française) and the region's two largest parks under construction. We're also focusing on wind energy: the French, Turks and Austrians have just won a challenge. Then, there's Shell and your Annie with major gas and oil operations on the ground. We are still uncharted on that front.

When will drilling start?

They have already started with great expectations.

Italy? Investing in Africa?

NS: Italy is a very strong ally. If it was cunning and lived up to its reputation for doing so, it would have made a lot more investment. I think the economic cunning of your country is more of a myth than a reality.

You as a socialist, you're a big fan of Melon. He even kissed her at Berlusconi's funeral. What is happening?
I have always had excellent relations with all governments, as well as my country since we entered the free world. "Giorgia not for me but for the Euro-Atlantic club it's a big surprise. In all international circumstances it is viewed with respect. It's charismatic and says all the right things. I'm 198cm tall, but when she speaks she looks taller than me.

Are you in love with him?

No, no man kisses only for love. I admire him. Giorgia is albania's little sister, I am an older brother of Italy and we knew each other as such in Tirana, hugging before we started talking.

Does the war in Ukraine slow or favour your EU membership?

Rama: I believe and hope that it will accelerate the full integration of European countries into the EU. It is not just a financial issue anymore, but above all geopolitical. It would be far-sighted for the Western Balkans to enter without "creeping in," not to leave black holes and space for third parties that have already created problems for the region.

Are you talking about the infiltration of Russia and Wagner, like in Niger? Tensions in Kosovo, Bosnia always on the brink of eruption: are you worried that a new front will open up in the Balkans?

Ju jeni mik i Erdoganit.
