Rama to Italian TV: We are no longer a country full of criminals and poor migrants

Prime Minister Edi Rama says Albania has managed to remove the stigma as a country full of criminals and poor immigrants.

Rama made the statement during an interview with Italian channel LA7. The head of the Albanian government said the secret is work done with great passion and patience, when asked about the large influx of tourists this year.

"It's not a secret, but a job done with great passion and patience. We were able to get rid of the stigma we had on us since the 1990s.

We were seen as a country full of criminals and poor immigrants. For Italians, Albania is their home, we feel Italian and we are very connected to Italy," Rama said among other things.
