The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, said that the former deputy director of AKSHI, Daniel Shima, has been kidnapped.
"This person brutally dismissed a year ago by Mirlinda Karçanaj, disappeared from the radar, rumored at the time of his dismissal, appears to us yesterday with an SOS. 'They are arresting me'! At 1:30, according to sources very close to the police, Shima sends a message to his cohabitant or partner: They are arresting me. Of course, such a message, which expresses the threat of a great risk of arrest, implies beyond any doubt the direct involvement of state uniforms or state bandits dressed in uniform. They are arresting me. But from 1:30 p.m. that Daniel sent the message to his partner, until 5 p.m., everything was covered with a code of silence, until finally his mother reported her son's disappearance to the police and the media were informed," Berisha said in a press conference.
"The fact that this silence was maintained for 3 hours proves that the police, who try to act as if they knew everything about Daniel, were completely out of the picture, except for those who had taken the task of either arresting him, or the uniformed gang that surrounded him."
"It is difficult to believe the police reports, which once say that he headed towards Student City and we lost track of him. But all Albanians know that above Student City is Surrel. If you continue a little further, you will come to Surrel. This is the truth. And then they say that we spotted him when he passed through the tunnel in Elbasan. So, whether Shima ended up in the basements of Suel Çela or in the tunnels of Dajti i Surrel, we cannot say this truth for sure. But one thing is absolutely certain, that he was kidnapped. And that he escaped alive thanks to that instinct that prompted him to send a message, an SOS, to his partner.
Otherwise, we would have scenes like that of Jan Prenga or disappearances like that of Ervis Martin, who is still missing to this day without a trace," added the opposition leader.
