While the plenary session accompanied by debates is taking place in the Assembly hall, the opposition is protesting outside the Parliament.
The head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, said in his speech to the protesters that the majority is violating the constitutional right of the opposition deputies.
Berisha emphasized that they are obstructing the establishment of investigative commissions for the Prime Minister, as according to him, their affairs would come to light.
"This is a battle for the protection of the Constitution which is being kicked by thugs, by orderlies of murder and patrols of crime clans. This constitution guarantees the deputy, with the gathering of 28 signatures, the automatic creation of the commission of inquiry for the problems that these 28 voted by the voters, judge that they want to bring the truth on this issue. Meanwhile, traffickers and puppets without any dignity of Edi Rama block this right to the opposition MPs. We demand the investigation of Edi Rama's flights, 137 flights with your taxes, your sweat and your toil. And your children leave. These deny us the constitutional right of investigative commissions because with them they will come out naked as they are, blacker than the bride with their affairs.
Edi Rama contracted McGonigal as a hitman to annihilate the opposition, de facto of Albanian democracy. There will never be a democracy without opposition, so today you are the one who believes that opposition is vital for a free system. For all those Albanians whose job the opposition is to control the government", said the chief democrat.
