President Ilir Meta signed in Istanbul a few minutes ago the decree of the release of Bajram Begaj from the post of Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, as well as the release from active service of the rank of Major General.

The news was announced by Meta's spokesman, Tedi Blushi, as he posted the video on social networks when the head of state signed.

"LIVE from Istanbul - The President of the Republic, Sh.TZ Ilir Meta signed the decree for the dismissal of the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, as well as the release from active service in the Armed Forces, Major General Bajram Rushit Begaj. " writes Teddy Blushi.

Thus, the way is opened for Bajram Begaj to be voted in the Assembly as the new President of the Republic. The session will take place today at 18:00 and only 71 votes are enough for him to be elected the new head of state.
