"Albania is becoming, Kosovo is becoming, our lands are becoming" This is how the Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti expressed himself during his speech at the joint meeting of the two Albanian-Kosovo Assemblies.
He declared that the provincial divisions are backward and that we should rejoice as much as possible when we are involved in each other's public affairs, not to disrupt work, but to help. Kurti added that work was being done to create a common encyclopedic dictionary between the two countries.
"Your great-grandfathers have contributed with blood and sweat for what is called Albania. The declaration is thought to have been written by Luigj Gurakuqi. On this day, we should put our hands on our hearts, ask if we have done our duty for the homeland. Let us know our faults, to forget the enmities that separate us, to give each other a hand, and to swear that today and back we will fight for the honor of our nation.
We need to be together more often, not just us politicians, to work together. While democracy was coming to Eastern Europe, Professor Ukshin Hoti said that Albanian politicians, by deepening the division between themselves, were giving reasons to those who wanted to see them divided. I'm sure most here agree with Luigi and Ukshin's message.
Provincial divisions were an obstacle and a hindrance then, and they are still so today. We should rejoice when we get involved as much as possible in each other's public affairs, not to disrupt work but to help. We need to work together, share ideas with each other and accept each other's criticisms. While democracy was coming to Eastern Europe, Professor Ukshin Hoti said that Albanian politicians, by deepening the division between themselves, were giving reasons to those who wanted to see them divided. I'm sure most here agree with Luigi and Ukshin's message.
Tomorrow we celebrate the 110th anniversary of independence in Vlora. In Kosovo, we rejoice at every success of the government, both previous and current. While today we mark the 25th anniversary of the formation of the national army of Kosovo. Albania has made great strides forward, today it is a NATO country, a member of the United Nations and has made significant strides in various fields. We wish that Albania's successes do not stop. I am sure that even in Albania they are happy about the successes of Kosovo. I wish that the successes do not stop and add to the flag. I'm sure that's how you enjoy it too. I am sure of our cooperation. We already have the common primer and are working on the common encyclopedic dictionary. We have unified labor markets with Albania and we are working towards customs unification.
Our space, culture and economy are not fiefdoms that belong to anyone, but we all have to put some stones in this castle. Immigrants are the greatest support for our countries but also a source of culture and democracy. I know that you are not going there for fun, but because of worry. I know that we have not restored their faith in the justice and democracy of our countries, but I guarantee you that we will win this battle until the end. Albania becomes, Kosovo becomes." - said Kurti.
