The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, appeared today at SPAK to implement the security measure, ordered by the Special Court of Appeals in November 2024.

He continued with the accusations against this institution and the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani.

According to Berisha, drug lords are free and live in Albania in a Xhafzotaj territory where no one, not even police officers, enters.

The former prime minister said in a statement to journalists before SPAK that drug gangs are being amnestied by Dumani, as according to him they were informed before the arrest warrants were issued. 

"250 national and international arrest warrants have not been executed. As in the case of Elvis Doc, the leaders of the cartels have been informed and de facto none of them are in prison in Albania. It is a collaboration of the highest degree with crime. If the Serious Crimes Prosecution had an execution of arrest warrants according to accurate statistics that was 90%, Altin Troplini and his predecessor, the former executioner of Enver Hoxha's secret police, these two together have an execution that for the bosses does not even reach 10%", said Berisha.

But while attacking the head of SPAK, Berisha defends Shkodër prosecutor Elsa Gjeli and judge Hazbi Balliu, who were criticized by Prime Minister Rama during the action to free public spaces. Berisha said that Rama addressed fierce attacks on them, but the KLP and KLGJ remained silent, paralleling the situation with his attacks on justice. “When I denounced the connections with Altin Troplini’s crime, they issued kilometers of statements in defense of Gjoka or Troplini,” said Berisha, continuing the attacks on judge Irena Gjoka, whom he again called Irena with 5 adjectives and shameless. 

"Edi Rama attacked with the greatest ferocity a prosecutor with the surname Gjeli, who had absolutely implemented point by point what was required in the Shkodra police report. And after prosecutor Gjeli left no stone unturned in her action against her, he attacked a judge Balliu, for the sole fault that this judge with a character for the law had implemented the government's decision point by point.

This judge, in accordance with the decision, which recognized the lawbreaker's right of preemption with Edi Rama's signature, had imposed the security measure, because Edi Rama, despite his impudence, demanded that the judge maintain two standards, once to implement it and once not to implement it.

"Now this one, he attacks the judge, a young man, with the words of an ordinary person, not a prime minister, not impudent, not this and that. Did you hear, two savage attacks, did you hear a single word from the two main justice institutions, which necessarily had to protect these individuals because they had implemented the law. Not a word, grave silence. Meanwhile, when I denounced the connections with the crime of Altin Troplini, they issued kilometers of statements in defense of Gjoka or Troplini," said Berisha. 

The "Partizani" case will be tried on September 18, which includes charges of corruption and money laundering against Berisha, his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi and three other people.
