Arben Ahmetaj's lawyers claim that unprofessional and insulting language was used in the prosecutor's report for the former minister, and that the prosecutors behaved like the "Gestapo".
This, according to the Deputy of the Democratic Party Ervin Salianji, who at the meeting of the Council of Mandates asked Ahmetaj's lawyers, if the former minister is under political attacks from the majority.
"Lawyer, in your speech you said that we should guard against judicial protagonism, you said that there is unprofessional language in the relationship, that there are insults, that the prosecution behaved like the Gestapo, etc...
Meanwhile, sticking to the opinion that we are not a court and that the guarantee of immunity is a guarantee for political attacks, I am asking you after you said that your client is politically vulnerable, do you think that he is being attacked politically by the majority", was Salianji's question to the lawyers.
Salianji said that there is talk in public that during the questioning of Ahmetaj in SPAK, the latter stated that Edi Rama should be asked about some decision-making.
"It is circulating in the public that the person under investigation has answered some questions to the prosecution that the prosecution should ask Rama about some decision-making, do you have authorization or information to clarify this?" said Salianji.
However, Ahmetaj's defense lawyer, Ardian Visha, did not give detailed answers. He said that he does not believe in the justice of SPAK.
"You don't find justice in SPAK, there is no evidence, there are only hints", said lawyer Vishaj.
While the socialist deputy Ermonela Felaj, says that the prosecutors have no power to influence, as they have passed the vetting. "What influence can SPAK prosecutors have when they have passed the vetting", said Felaj.
