Prime Minister Edi Rama rejected rumors that he has proposed Vangjel Tavo for the leadership of Himara Municipality.
Rama made the comments in a statement to the media, during the government meeting he is holding in Lezha, on the priorities of 2024.
Rama said that these are rumors circulating in the Greek media and did not come out of his office.
He said that they will also wait for the decision of the GJKKO Appeal, to make a decision regarding the Beleri case and the direction of the Municipality of Himara.
Question: Since the decision of GJKKO on the Beleri case, which attributes responsibility to you to find a solution, have you proposed Vangjel Tavos to head the Municipality of Himara, and if not, what is the plan to find a solution?
Rama: The decision of the GJKKO is a positive decision for the reasons I told him and for the space it creates, but it is not a final decision, because we cannot act with a decision of the first instance and the Appeal says something else.
Second, all these that have circulated have as their source the Greek media and not the Albanian media or my government. I do not comment on what the Greek media puts in my mouth, without my knowledge. This is a question for your Greek colleagues, in newspapers, portals, television, or ask the Greek authorities.
