The Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj , spoke about the 2026 draft budget at the Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture.
Asked by Lëvizja Bashke MP, Redi Muçi, whether pensioners will receive a bonus at the end of next year, Malaj said that such a thing is not foreseen.
However, the finance minister emphasized that the determinant for the December 2026 bonus will be the country's economic growth.
"Depending on economic growth, we will decide whether to give a year-end bonus in 2026. It is not foreseen in the draft budget, but by a normative act, depending on economic growth, we will give the bonus. The bonus is calculated depending on economic performance, and depending on that, by the end of next year, we will assess whether the economy has performed well, so we can definitely give a bonus," said Malaj.
