The Democratic Party parliamentary group has decided to boycott the meeting of the Conference of Mayors, where the Minister of Finance is expected to present the 2027 draft budget and fiscal package.
The DP argues that the relevant documentation was not made available to the deputies and that the meeting was announced in violation of the Assembly's Rules of Procedure, which, as a rule, provides for a deadline of 48 hours from the announcement.
In a media release, Democrats emphasize that they are not rejecting the budget discussion, but they object to the procedure followed.
The opposition demands that the draft budget and accompanying documentation be made immediately available to MPs, and that sufficient time be guaranteed for analysis, discussion, and the submission of amendments.
