The Albanian Parliament will convene today at 10:00, in the first plenary session after the physical clashes between majority and opposition deputies that accompanied last week's proceedings.
According to the agenda, the session foresees the review of 12 draft laws, one normative act and three draft decisions, in addition to an interpellation with the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, requested by Democratic MP Ina Zhupa.
Among the main initiatives is the new draft law "On the Bank of Albania", for the adoption of which a qualified majority of votes is required. The agenda also includes the draft law for the establishment of the Fiscal Council of the Republic of Albania, as well as changes in the legislation on excise duties.
During the last session, there were tensions and clashes. The Ethics Secretariat expelled 6 Democratic Party MPs for 60 days: Flamur Noka, Belind Këlliçi, Edi Paloka, Fidel Kreka, Luçiano Boçi and Besart Xhaferri.
The DP group blocked the floor at the beginning of the session and argued fiercely with the Speaker of Parliament Niko Peleshi. After the tensions at the beginning, Peleshi decided to move the session directly to a vote on the draft laws.
