Socialist MP Vullnet Sinaj explained to News24 his vote "in favor" of territorial reform, despite his stance against it.

"I want to clarify that in the SP parliamentary group, two votes were taken. The first was who is in favor of the reform and who is against it, I voted against it together with my colleague BRace. After this, a second vote was taken, it was put to the vote that we will vote in favor of the territorial division by political decision of the SP group.

I obeyed the decision of the SP parliamentary group. Just as an opposition MP can obey such a decision. When the majority has an opinion contrary to yours, you must obey the decision of the majority.

I obeyed him not only as a discipline but also in my thoughts. My stance against it was a point of view but one person never proves it, it takes time. The parliamentary group and the special commission had their opinion.

The union would be in the best interest of the citizens and increase the economic empowerment of the municipalities. I joined the SP parliamentary group. There has been absolutely no pressure or ultimatum. I am not pressured either personally or in any field.

I heard in the studio that I have connected work with business. I have no fear because my business is one of the most regular in this country. I had no reason to be afraid and I have not had any pressure.

I only had a constructive conversation about the benefits of the reform with the Prime Minister, the head of the region and the head of the parliamentary group. It was a conversation between us. At the end of this conversation, we were of the same opinion that territorial reform should be voted on because the benefits will be better than those in today's conditions.

"Because the previous reform had brought its results. If I had not been an SP MP or an independent, I could have voted against that reform," said Sinaj.
