The Israeli delegation was seen moving around the United Nations General Assembly hall, checking and noting which delegations had left during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech.
Dozens of representatives from different countries left the hall shortly after Netanyahu took the floor, in an act of protest against Israel's policies and developments in the Middle East war.
The departure of the delegations was immediately noticed in the General Assembly hall, as Netanyahu continued his speech before the representatives, who remained in their seats.
On the other hand, members of the Israeli delegation remained in the hall throughout the speech and applauded some of the prime minister's statements. While noting the representatives' departure, Netanyahu directly referred to this action during his speech.
"If there are any other cowards in this room, please leave now," Netanyahu said, addressing the delegations that remained in the room.
The departures took place shortly after the Israeli prime minister began his speech at the UN General Assembly. Palestinian representatives had earlier called for a joint protest during the Israeli prime minister's speech.
Footage from the hall also showed members of the Israeli delegation observing the empty seats and taking notes regarding the absent delegations.
According to Israeli reports, Israeli officials noted dozens of delegations that were not present or that left during the speech.
The delegations' action became one of the most visible moments in New York, reflecting the intense diplomatic clashes over the war and Israel's policies towards the Palestinians.
