Four underage students from Albania, who were detained by Montenegrin authorities on October 31 in the city of Kotor, have been released without charge after the end of the court session and are headed to Albania.

The news was officially announced by the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Montenegro. According to data provided by Albanian diplomacy, the detention of the minors followed a verbal conflict with a Montenegrin citizen, after the students had made the symbol of the double-headed eagle with their hands.

From the moment of receiving notification of the event until the completion of all legal steps, representatives of the Albanian diplomatic corps have been directly following the case to offer protection and support to the students.

The official announcement states that "from the moment they became aware of the incident until the completion of legal procedures and the students' departure for Albania, the Embassy representative has been by their side, offering consular assistance."

The diplomatic mission also announced that during this period it has maintained continuous communication with the authorities of the neighboring country, as well as with the families and teachers of the minors.
