Former Miss Uruguay dies at the age of 26

Former Miss Uruguay Sherika de Armas died at the age of 26. The news of the young woman's death was announced on October 13, and her brother Mayk de Armas confirmed the sad news on social networks.

Sherika de Armas was diagnosed with cervical cancer, while it is known that she represented Uruguay in the Miss World 2015 contest.

Foreign media reported that she died last week after a two-year battle with cervical cancer. Friends and relatives devastated by her death have sent their condolences to her family through social media.

“Fly up, little sister. Always and forever", writes her brother on social networks.
The current Miss Uruguay, Carla Romero, also expressed her condolences.

"She was one of the most beautiful women I have ever met in my life."

Off the catwalk, De Armas sold personal care, makeup and hair products through Shey De Armas Beauty Studio.

She had also made a valuable contribution to the organization for children with cancer of the Pérez Scremini Foundation.
