Italy is not a country of great readers, therefore, it is surprising to discover that a child of only 5 years has managed to read 125 books in one year, according to "La Stampa".
All the books were part of the "Bartolomeo Della Fonte" library, in Montemurlo, in the province of Prato.
The protagonist of this story is Mattia Mehdihoxha, of Albanian origin, but living in a small Tuscan town.
A child with a great passion for stories and reading.
According to a quick calculation, Mattia traveled from home to the library approximately once every three days.
"Bartolomeo Della Fonte" library decided to give the 5-year-old the "Reader of the Year" award
The award was presented by the Culture Councilor of the municipality of Montemurlo, Giuseppe Forastiero.
