There are those who choose to get married at McDonald's to avoid excessive expenses and those who, instead, ask for help from the guests to cover the costs of the ceremony. This second one is the story of an American couple who, in order to organize the wedding of their dreams, decided to sell tickets, just like a show.

Wedding lists are now a distant memory. Today's spouses often prefer to receive monetary contributions from guests, whether it is to cover party expenses, cover a trip, purchase household appliances or satisfy other needs.

Usually the amounts are variable and each guest participates in the gift within the limits of his possibilities.

However, at the wedding of 23-year-old Hassan Ahmed and his fiancee, things went differently. The Houston couple asked guests to pay $450 each to attend the ceremony.

The result? Due to the considerable amount, but above all mandatory, no one showed up at the party.

"All the people we invited refused," Ahmed himself said on social media.

It is not difficult to imagine the disappointment of the spouses, left alone on their special day.

In fact, soon after the incident, Hassan Ahmed asked people on TikTok for their opinion on the matter. On his profile with 6 thousand followers he has posted a video in which he shows how it went, at least from his point of view.

"Tell me why everyone we invited turned down the invitation," Ahmed asked his community. According to him, he and his girlfriend had already spent about 200 thousand dollars on the ceremony, providing the clothes, the DJ, the cake, the photographer, etc. So they believed it was only fair that the guests contributed some sort of ticket, just as a concert was.

"What I don't understand is that you all spend $400 or more on crap, but not to come support your friends or family on their wedding day," the young man continued. At the end of the video, Ahmed launches an appeal to his followers, inviting them to comment: "I really want to know what you think," he says.

And most of the comments were ironic towards him.
