In a recent interview on "Live From Tirana", sports journalist Sabina Mete shared some candid views on the social reality and lifestyle that is often discussed in the country.
While commenting on Grida Duma's statements on "Top Story" about the escort phenomenon, she openly stated that things should be called by their proper name, also mentioning the so-called "VIP" category.
"They have a name, they're called escorts. We call famous escorts VIP escorts. Maybe these VIP escorts can vary in price, I don't know.
I actually followed the show, even in terms of prices, work, and schedules.
There are all kinds of ways to make that quick buck, to live the life you want, it's up to you how you choose, how you use your life, your body. I don't have any judgment, to be honest.
"However, there have been so many and there are so many incompetent people around, not only in the media but everywhere, but everyone has their own path and everyone has their own risk. As long as they are given time, given the opportunity, why not," she said.
She also focused on the lifestyle that often does not match real income:
"You understand how things happen, because we live here, we have a social circle that we get information from each other and everything else."
You can't have a salary under 1 thousand euros and live a life of luxury and run away to Mykonos or anywhere else, because we know that these are luxury things.
"I'm talking about the salaries we live on. If a student comes here and doesn't have at least a minimal house in Tirana, what will she pay first? Will she pay the rent, will she pay the bills, or will she live that expensive life, buy that Gucci bag that most of them have 'fake'?"
Her statements have sparked numerous discussions online, bringing back into focus debates about lifestyle and economic reality in the country.
