A surprising news comes from Eurovision. In the big international event that this year will be held in Sweden from May 7 to 11, there will not be only one Albanian singer like every year.
For the first time in history, this festival will have "two Albanias", as one of the contending songs and one of the most promising singers of the moment, also goes with the "Albanian stamp" in the Nordic capital.
It is about Georgia and the singer Nutsa Buzaladze, who have chosen to have the artistic producer of their representative song, a very well-known Albanian artist.
It is about Ardit Gjebrena.
Natia Mshvenieradze, head of the Georgian Delegation to Eurovision, says that out of 300 projects for Nutsa Buzaladze that were presented to the public RTV of Georgia, the commission chose three for the final stage: the song "Firefighter" by Darko Dimitrov, another by the Swedish composer Thomas G :Son (two-time Eurosong winner with Loreen, with the songs "Euphoria" and "Tattoo") and the song of the Georgian composer, George Pruidze.
In the end, the Commission chose the winner to represent Georgia at Eurovision, the song Firefighter! But the surprise comes when you look at the artistic producer of this really powerful song that fits well with the stage profile of the Georgian singer.
He is Ardit Gjebrea.
Contacted by DITA , Gjebrea confirms the news of the Georgian public television.
He also explains the special connection that the Georgian singer has with Albania, who is quite quoted in the world of music at the moment.
"Nutsa participated four years ago in the Magic Song and had the best result that a foreign artist has ever had in this festival. After her participation in Eurovision was announced, due to her success in Russia and in America with American Idol as a finalist, she called me and said: "Ardit, I would like you to present your project for me as well at Eurovision".
I said, why not with great pleasure, tell me the nature of the song you want. She sent me two or three types of songs. I thought that the most suitable composer for the nature she has and the song she was looking for, was Darko Dimitrov. I contacted Darko, he agreed and after we explored different demos, in the end Darko gave me a fantastic proposal for the song that is today. So the song titled Firefighter that you are asking me about. Darkon and I showed Nutsa the song, she liked it" - said Ardit Gjebrea.
Not only Dimitrov, but also the ballet troupe accompanying the Georgian singer was chosen by the Albanian staff. Gjebrea tells:
"I was lucky enough to have the best dancers from the Italian Channel 5, who are the protagonists and winners of the famous "Amici" of Maria de Filipi, come to the Magic Song. We got in touch with them, with two choreographers, and Nutsa's performance that you will see on stage, on the second night of the European Festival, was also conceived.
So we were presented with a full project on Georgian Public Television. I am happy that we won and that I am going to the European Festival as an artistic producer. I tried it with Juliana Pasha in 2010 and now with another country like Georgia. I feel happy and proud" - says Gjebrea.
The news was also surprising for other Albanian artists. With her success on American Idol and the connections she has already made in the United States, the Georgian artist could choose anyone who would surely be in her opposition.
But her first and only phone call was to Tirana. The result is Firefighter, a truly emotional song in terms of lyrics, music and performance.
We have reason to support both Albania and Georgia in Sweden!
