Queen Elizabeth II's cause of death was old age, according to her death certificate issued by the Royal Family.

Elizabeth II died at 3.10pm at Balmoral Castle in Scotland on September 8. She was 96 years old, the death certificate said. The document was signed by her daughter, Princess Anne.

The death was registered on September 16 by the Secretary General for Scotland, writes the BBC.

Her death certificate also bears the name of her father, King George VI, and mother, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon.
