Israel has claimed responsibility for the attack in Gaza that killed 7 workers of a humanitarian organization distributing food. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who left the hospital after an intervention, described the tragic event, which claimed the lives of several citizens from Poland, Britain, America and Australia, as an unintended incident.
"Unfortunately, in the last day there was a tragic case where our forces bombed innocent people in the Gaza Strip without purpose. There are these wars. We are investigating the case and are in contact with the governments of the victims and will do everything to make sure it never happens again," Benjamin Netanyahu said.
After the attack, near Al Shifa Hospital, the World Central Kitchen announced that it has suspended operations and will make a decision in the future. He also expresses great sympathy as the actions of the humanitarian aid workers were coordinated with the Israeli army. An outpouring of reaction has followed with the United States of America expressing grief over the loss of innocent lives. Australia and the home states of the humanitarian personnel killed in Gaza demanded immediate clarification from Israel on the tragic event. Meanwhile, Tel Aviv does not back down from recent actions to attack neighboring countries, despite Iran's threat to retaliate for the killing of the general in Damascus, Syria.
"We are currently in a war on multiple fronts, both defensively and offensively. We see evidence of this every day. We operate everywhere, every day, to prevent our enemies from gaining power. We make clear to anyone operating against us, throughout the Middle East, that the price for action against Israel will be very high," said Yoav Gallant, Israel's defense minister.
Israel's attack on Syria has not been viewed favorably by the Jewish state's allies, while Russia, China and other countries consider it a violation of sovereignty.
