Ukraine: Peace talks with Moscow are on the verge of termination

Ukraine has warned that peace talks with Moscow are on the verge of cessation.

Russian forces have shifted their focus to eastern and southern Ukraine after failing to capture the capital during a nine-week offensive.

Moscow has occupied the city of Kherson in southern Ukraine, and its forces have occupied most of the eastern port city of Mariupol, where United Nations efforts to evacuate civilians are taking place.

Ukraine and Russia have not held face-to-face peace talks since March 29, and the atmosphere has deteriorated at a time when Ukraine is accusing Russian troops of committing atrocities.

Moscow has denied the allegations. In comments to reporters in Poland, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed pessimism about the possibility of continuing negotiations with Russia.
