An Albanian arrested with 4.2 million pounds of cocaine in Ireland has requested freedom in court.
39-year-old Gentjan Dodaj has asked the judge to grant him the measure of "obligation to appear", saying that he plans to finish a business so that he can help his two children and his pregnant wife.
He has vowed that he will "1,000,000% not leave Ireland" if he is released on bail and that he will return to the courtroom again.
Dodaj was caught a few weeks ago with an amount of 60 kilograms of cocaine. He said that he was forced by some people to move the cargo, for which he would be paid 4 thousand to 6 thousand euros.
"It is the first time I have committed a crime. I have not committed any crime before. Everyone makes mistakes and they are given a second chance", he declared.
Dodaj left Albania 17 years ago. In connection with the load of 60 kilograms of cocaine, the 22-year-old brother of the Albanian, Donatel Dodaj, as well as the Romanian citizen Daniel Afedoaei, were also put in handcuffs.
