US President Donald Trump has published a long statement on his Truth Social network, where he spoke about the prospect of peace between Iran and Israel after a direct conflict launched in recent days between them.
In his justification for reaching an agreement, Trump listed some of his foreign policy interventions, where he mentioned the case of Kosovo and Serbia, among others.
"During my first mandate, Serbia and Kosovo were very close to war, as they have been for decades. I stopped it," Trump writes in the post, then criticizing his predecessor in the White House, Joe Biden.
"Biden has damaged long-term prospects with some very ill-considered decisions, but I will fix it again," Trump emphasized.
Trump referred to the 2020 Washington agreement, which was brokered by his administration and aimed at economic normalization between Kosovo and Serbia.
In the same post, Trump claims to have also influenced the avoidance of conflicts between Egypt and Ethiopia over the Nile River and between India and Pakistan through US trade pressure. He concludes with an ambitious promise:
"Soon we will have PEACE between Israel and Iran! A lot of calls and meetings are happening. I do a lot, but I am never given credit — no problem, the people understand."
