"Israel is underestimating the love we have for our country," Iranians
People watch smoke rising from an Israeli airstrike in Tehran, Iran, on Saturday.

In a rare address to the people of Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on them to "rise up and let their voices be heard," after Israel launched deadly attacks on its regional foe.

“The time has come for the Iranian people to unite around their flag and their historical heritage, standing up for your freedom from an evil and oppressive regime,” Netanyahu said. But in Iran, the Israeli leader’s call went unheeded!

As CNN writes, Netanyahu's calls are not only not being taken into consideration, but have caused revolt.

"Israel is underestimating the love for our country. The idea that bombing us, our homes, killing our children would bring us out on the streets is shocking. We want to live in peace, whether we like the regime or not," a 36-year-old Iranian told CNN, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Some of them expressed anger and asserted that they would never submit to Netanyahu's demands.

"Would I like the regime not to be in power? Absolutely. Would I like my city to be bombed by another dictator? Absolutely not," said a 28-year-old.

"Don't let the fake news fool you, the reality of what's happening in Iran, as an Iranian who has actually lived in Iran, who has his family in Iran, Israel is not helping our people in any way. I don't need fake news and propaganda speeches," she added.
