Iran and Israel have activated air strikes against each other and simultaneously their own defense systems.

Iran has launched drones and missiles towards Israeli cities, while the Israeli military says it is attacking Tehran.

"We are attacking military targets in the capital of Iran," the Israeli military says.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says its Space Force fired a large barrage of missiles and drones toward Israel, in retaliation for Israeli attacks.

According to the statement, the new attack involves a combination of drones and more than 100 missiles, with the cities of Haifa and Tel Aviv as the main targets. "The attack will disrupt the sleep of residents," the statement broadcast on Iranian state television said.

Israel is also reportedly carrying out airstrikes in Yemen, aiming to kill a Houthi militia official.
