A deeply moving moment was recorded at the University Hospital of Patras, where doctors silently honored 14-year-old Spiros, who tragically lost his life in the Arahthos River while trying to save his 12-year-old friend.

According to ERT News, shortly before the procedure to remove his organs began, the medical staff stood in silence and reverence in front of the operating table, a gesture that expresses deep shock at the loss of the two minors, as well as respect for the parents who decided to donate their children's organs, giving new life to others.

The process of removing the 14-year-old's organs began in the early hours of Sunday morning and ended at noon.

His kidneys and liver were sent to the "Laiko" Hospital in Athens and to the "Ippokrateio" Hospital in Thessaloniki for transplantation to patients in need.

The heart and lungs were not considered suitable for transplantation, while the corneas of the eyes were later removed, which will also be sent to hospitals in Athens and Thessaloniki.

Meanwhile, organ donation from the 12-year-old's body is expected to begin in the early hours of Monday morning.
