Trump: We will take very strong action if Iran hangs protesters

Trump and the protests in Iran

US President Donald Trump has doubled down on his strong rhetoric towards Iran this evening.

In an interview with CBS News, the US president vowed to take "very strong measures" if Iran hangs protesters.

This statement comes as the human rights organization Hengaw reported that a 26-year-old protester will be executed tomorrow in Iran.

The Norway-based group said Erfan Soltani, from Fardis, was arrested during protests in his city.

In a statement released yesterday, the organization added that he "is facing the immediate execution of a death sentence, following a swift and opaque trial."
