Tehran is shocked, wave of explosions with car bombs
Explosion in Tehran

Several car bombs have exploded in Tehran after Israeli airstrikes hit the Iranian capital.

Five bombs exploded in different locations, Iran's semi-official IRNA news agency said, with unconfirmed reports that they exploded simultaneously near government buildings.

Footage circulating on social media shows thick black smoke rising from a burning car and windows shattered from surrounding buildings. Some suggest that this attack targeted nuclear scientists.

Iranian media reported that the Tehran police headquarters was also hit on Sunday and a number of other targets were shot down as Israeli shelling entered its third day.

At least 14 Iranian nuclear scientists have been killed in Israeli airstrikes since the conflict began on Friday, including two with car bombs, according to sources in the Persian Gulf.
